This month, we are excited to release Always Pride, our Pride Month brew in celebration of the LGBTQ+ community to benefit the Rainbow Community Center of Contra Costa County, a local non-profit located in Concord, CA. This organization provides numerous programs for LGBTQ+ youth, adults, and seniors including: food programs, mental health services, houselessness assistance, youth programs, and much more. Del Cielo Brewing Co. will donate 20% of the proceeds to the Rainbow Community Center to help them fund these vital services for the LGBTQI+ community in the East Bay.

Tell us what the Rainbow Community Center is all about?

The Rainbow Community Center (RCC) is all about building community! We support the well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, and intersex people, in addition to our allies, in Contra Costa County and beyond. We do this through providing various services, putting on events, conducting professional development trainings, and partnering with organizations and businesses in our community, such as Del Cielo Brewing Co.!

What are the services that you provide to the LGBTQ+ Community in the East Bay?

We have a lot going on at Rainbow! We have our Houseless Transitional Youth Program for LGBTQI+ youth that are experiencing houselessness, or have been victims of violence and are in crisis. We have our Kind Hearts Food Pantry, which provides food assistance for low-income qualifying members within Contra Costa County. We also have counseling for LGBTQI+ identified individuals and outpatient mental health services. RCC’s programming also includes HIV Education and Prevention, which is administered to the community through HIV+ support groups, special events, testing, and educational outreach. We also offer Youth Programming to support and empower LGBTQI+ youth and young adults ages 11 – 25. And for those who are of a different generation,  we also offer Older Adult Programming, providing a safe space for people to find support in the community. Last, we provide a myriad of Professional Development & Trainings for organizations and businesses to grow and expand their education and work-place culture.

How will the purchase of our Pride Month Beer, Always Pride, help support the efforts of the Rainbow Community Center?

In addition to sipping on a delicious beer, your money will be going towards Rainbow during a time when your money is needed most! The recent COVID-19 pandemic not only forced RCC to temporarily close its physical doors, but it forced most of us into more isolated situations. The LGBTQI+  community was especially impacted, with some being isolated in unsafe situations, and others not able to get the continued healthcare and support they need. As with most organizations, we pivoted quickly to provide all of our services online.  Your money will help ensure that these programs will continue to help the community continue to receive support services.
